Asian Festival of Children’s Content in Singapore: Bigger, Bolder, and Brighter

And so it begins. While the festival is still a month away, we are already gearing up for the event, anticipating the bigger, bolder, and brighter things that the Asian Festival of Children’s Content here in Singapore has in store for us this 26-29 May, 2012. For the first time, the AFCC is launching a Regional Focus during the conference, a tradition that we hope will continue throughout the coming years. I am very happy to share that the Country of Focus this year is the Philippines. 🙂

To prepare for the event, there are two press conferences that will be held. The first one is happening this week in Manila!

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend this one as I have also been asked to be the Guest Speaker for the launching of the Asian Children’s Literature Room at Woodlands Regional Library here in Singapore, scheduled on the exact same date (20 April 2012). Too bad, I won’t be able to attend this one. However, I would be able to attend the Press Conference here in Singapore on 27 April 2012 at The Arts House. If you’re in the area, do come and join us!

It is truly a privilege to have been invited to be the Programme Director for the Asian Children’s Writers and Illustrators Conference (ACWIC) on 28-29 May 2012 along with Dr. Nancy Johnson. Kenneth Quek is also the Programme Director for the Parents Forum on 27 May 2012. Kenneth is also the Regional Advisor for the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), Singapore chapter. Mr Rama Ramachandran continues to be the indefatigable driving force and energy behind the AFCC.
