Myra here.
It is Friday once again, the day we give tribute to moving verse, vivid imagery, and the beauty of words in poetry. Our host this week is the indefatigable Mary Lee from A Year of Reading.
I read this poem by Nerisa and I closed my eyes in rapture. Reread the poem once again and allowed it to fill my hungry soul. There is stillness, love, and the immensity of the divine that you allow inside you. Womanity.

I love the center stanzas. To me they evoke the feelings that surround a heart-stopping event which changes one’s life forever: “When the world stops only where you stand…”.

This line’s rich imagery stopped me, made me think:
“the eyes always
The-Deep-that-Holds-Water
and no friendly fish.”
Sending you a New Year’s hug, Myra!

Yes, this is most definitely one to be savored– it, too, “holds an ocean.”
