Photo Journal/Photo Challenge: A is for Aerial, Awash, Ablaze

It’s Tuesday once again, and I’m giving Myra a break by taking over today’s post. This is my first time joining Frizztext’s A-Z Photo Challenge and I’m pretty excited to share with you some of the photos from my archive. This week’s letter is A, and I have narrowed down my themes to Aerial, Awash, Ablaze. I have just recently taken these photos, two of which were taken in Imperial Beach and one was taken in Mission Bay in San Diego. I love my city, and it’s always my pleasure to share its beauty to the world.

Aerial

Imperial Beach, CA. 063012.

I have come to accept the feeling of not knowing where I am going. And I have trained myself to love it. Because it is only when we are suspended in mid-air with no landing in sight, that we force our wings to unravel and alas begin our flight. And as we fly, we still may not know where we are going to. But the miracle is in the unfolding of the wings. You may not know where you’re going, but you know that so long as you spread your wings, the winds will carry you.

Awash

Imperial Beach, CA. 063012.

Water does not resist. Water flows. When you plunge your hand into it, all you feel is a caress. Water is not a solid wall, it will not stop you. But water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end can stand against it. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. Remember that, my child. Remember you are half water. If you can’t go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does.”
- Margaret Atwood, The Penelopiad

Ablaze

Mission Bay, San Diego, CA. 062412.

Even
After
All this time
The Sun never says to the Earth,

‘You owe me.’

Look
What happens
With a love like that,
It lights the whole sky.”
