It’s Tuesday once more, and as per usual, we are joining Frizztext’s Photo A-Z Photo Challenge. Letter this week is T. As such, I chose the theme Touch, Threads, Transcendence as inspired by the pictures of our featured Photographer, my soul sister, Elena Yamamoto Flores. The quotes found here are also selected by Ms. Flores.
T is for Touch
T is for Threads
An aged man is but a paltry thing,
A tattered coat upon a stick, unless
Soul clasp its hands and sing, and louder sing
For every tatter in its mortal dress.
~William Butler Yeats, Sailing to Byzantium
T is for Transcendence
“It is different for us mortals. We are the ones who become old and grey. We are the ones who become worn at the seams and disappear. But not our dreams. They can live on in other people even after we have gone.”
― Jostein Gaarder, The Solitaire Mystery
Except for the picture of the hand under “Touch”, the two other pictures were part of the photo exhibit entitled “Sulyap sa Buhay nina Lolo at Lola” [A Peek in the Life of Grandma and Grandpa] organized by Institutional Network for Social Action (INSA) and the Social Sciences Department of Miriam College. The exhibit, held on February 17, 2010, was part of the Health and Wellness for the Elderly program created for the improvement of the condition of the elderly specifically among Miriam College’s partner communities in Quezon City.
