It is with great honor and privilege that I share with you something that I have been pretty excited about for awhile now. Please pardon me for a little bit of shameless sharing here.
I have been asked by the Singapore International Foundation to be a contributor to this book “Singapore: Insights from the Inside.” The foundation invited a few select “members of the international community to share their unique insights and personal experiences of Singapore so that more might know about Singapore and the Singapore community.”
This collection is intended to be part of “several initiatives by which we promote understanding to bridge and nurture enduring relationships between Singaporeans and world communities, and harness friendships for a better world.” It is truly an honor to be part of this endeavour.
The book launch will be held this evening. There would be a “sharing of insights from the inside by book contributors Mr Fredrik Härén, Founder of interesting.org, Mr Ronald Stride, Chairman of Food from the Heart, Mr Alvin Amadeo Witirto, Credit Analyst at Citibank, as well as Mr Hsieh Tsun-Yan, Governor, SIF. The session will be moderated by the editor, Dr David Fedo, Visiting Scholar of the Wheelock College Center for International Education, Leadership, and Innovation.”
As part of the press release for this book, there was a teeny-tiny featurette in The Straits Times last Sunday. Here is the newspaper article.

Wee…this is so cool. Congratulations!
Anyway, hope the book launch goes well.
I just realized they used “Mrs.” hehe. I’m not used to it. Maybe, its because I’m your student and by default i always used “Ms.”
Hi, I was actually surprised by it. In the text, however, they did refer to me as Dr. Bacsal, so it’s fine.
That’s so cool! Congrats!
Thanks TBM!
WooHoo! This is great! Congratulations! Beautiful photo of you in the paper

Thanks dearest Jama *blushes*
Way to go Myra! Congratulations.
Thanks dearest Anne!
I think I might say that is not a teeny-tiny article. You should be proud to be included and pleased with such a nice article. Congratulations Myra. What a special honor for a special woman!
Hi Linda, it truly is a privilege to be asked to be part of this.
