Book Spine Poems: Of Magic, Flights of Fancy, and Food for the Soul

The 2012 National Poetry Month poster, designed by Chin-Yee Lai.

This is my second set of Book Spine Poems. It’s a quirky poetry event hosted by Travis Jonker from 100 Scope Notes in celebration of National Poetry Month.

Of Magic…

…Flights of Fancy…

…and Food for the Soul…

Hope you enjoyed them. Stay tuned tomorrow for another set!
If you have book spine poems to share, we’d love to read them!

  1. This is my favorite set of book spine poems by far. I was particularly taken by the one on “My Name is Mina.”

I also love the ‘bookish’ books! We really really should have a theme on that. We are sooo big on themes, I can sense.

    • I thought you’d enjoy Mina and the “bookish” books. Yes, we really should! We can move one of the themes for next year so we can make space for that. Will also give us a chance to feature Laura Salas and her Book Speak (which I will hand to you in two months’ time).

  2. These are great, Fats! I love book spine poems. My favorite is the first one (I’m copying Myra.) I’ll be keeping a lookout for the “bookish” books theme in the future, perhaps… ? Thanks for sharing these!

    • I’m glad you liked it, Robyn!! :) It was fun making these book spine poems, although it was a little hard using only my phone to take the pictures. Luckily, I was able to buy a super cheap camera from Costco, so that will make things easier I hope. I believe I have 2 more sets to share! Please be on the lookout for them! :)

  3. Love these! You’re going crazy with these, Fats! I love the middle one best, flying & doing things solo is a good connection. Thanks for the lovely word-smithing!
